Father-in-law was against daughter Sunita’s relationship with Govinda, vented his anger in their marriage, revealed after years

New Delhi. Govinda is one of the popular stars of Bollywood industry. Not only his professional life but also his personal life was much discussed. When Govinda got married, his wife Sunita was only 18 years old. At the age of 19, she became a mother and gave birth to daughter Tina. Recently Sunita told that when her daughter Tina was born, she herself was still a child. Tina told that her maternal grandfather was against the marriage and hence she did not participate in the marriage.

In an interview given to Hauterrfly, Sunita told that before marriage she lived in a small family, but when she married Govinda, she became a part of his joint family. She said, ‘When I got married to Govinda, his family was very big. I got married when I was just 18 years old. When Tina was born, I was 19 years old. At that time I too was a child.

Govinda had said this to Sunita before marriage
Sunita also told that Govinda had already made it clear that his mother will remain the head of the house as long as she is alive. His mother will run the house. She said, ‘At that time I was in love with my husband. He had already told me that as long as my mother-in-law is alive, the responsibility of the house will remain in his hands. After he leaves you can do whatever you want.

Sunita tolerated everything
At that time many nephews and nieces of Govinda lived with him. Sunita said, ‘I got used to having other children (Krishna, Vinay) in the house. They were all very small and I love children very much. I don’t have the heart to throw everyone out if Govinda doesn’t have a mother. I thought that if you do good, God will see it, even if the children don’t. She further said that I loved my husband Govinda very much, that is why I tolerated everything.

Sunita’s father was against the relationship
In the same interview, Tina told that her mother had come from a different world when she married her father Govinda. He said, ‘My mother used to wear hot pants, lived in Pali Hill and was from a very rich family. My father was not that strong financially and he was struggling. My maternal grandfather’s condition was comparatively very good. It was a very Bollywood story, where he (Nana) said to my mother, are you crazy? He is a struggling actor and he did not even attend the wedding because he was not happy.
