After the investigation confirmed fraud, the police registered a case against him at Rani Ki Sarai police station. Actually, the accused Nakdu, posing as Nandlal, was posted as home guard in the police station Rani’s inn. The matter came to light when the case was investigated by the then DIG Vaibhav Krishna on the complaint of the nephew of the accused.

Several cases of murder, attempt to murder and robbery were registered against accused Nakdu. From September 1989 to 2024, he was working in Rani Ki Sarai and Mehnagar police station of the district, but no one was even aware of it. According to the information, the nephew of accused Nakdu had complained against him to DIG Vaibhav Krishna on December 3, alleging that his uncle has been working as a home guard fraudulently for 35 years. On this the DIG ordered an investigation. Investigation revealed that a case of murder and concealment of evidence was also registered against Nakdu, a resident of Chakwara of Rani Ki Sarai police station area, in 1984.

Investigation also revealed that in 1984, Nakdu had shot and killed Munna Yadav, a resident of Jahanaganj police station area, out of a rivalry. After this, a case of robbery was also registered against Nakdu in 1987, after which gangster action was taken against Nakdu in 1988. On opening its history sheet, it was revealed that Nakdu Yadav had studied in the primary school of the village till class four. Got the job of Home Guard in the year 1989 by making a fake certificate of class eight. Accused Nakdu also changed his identity to get the job. Before 1990, the accused was identified as Nakdu Yadav, son of Lokai Yadav.

Despite being a history-sheeter, he got character certificate from the police station.

In 1989, the accused changed from Cashdu to Nandlal. Even after this, the accused joined the Home Guard Department in September 1989. The interesting thing is that despite being a history-sheeter, the then in-charge of Rani Ki Sarai police station and the local intelligence team also signed the character certificate of the accused home guard in September 1992. In this matter, Azamgarh Superintendent of Police Hemraj Meena said that a case of obtaining the job of a home guard by committing fraud had come to light in Rani Ki Sarai police station area.
