New Delhi. The documentary ‘The Roshans’ made on the family of filmmaker Rakesh Roshan is about to be released. This show will hit Netflix on January 17. The makers recently shared a 3-minute trailer of the documentary. In this, Rakesh Roshan, Rajesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan can be seen talking about the old days. Meanwhile, Rakesh Roshan told that father-in-law Om Prakash had advised him to cast his son Hrithik Roshan in ‘Koyla’, but he had refused.
In the video, a picture was shown from the set of the 1997 film ‘Koyla’. At that time Hrithik Roshan was assisting his father Rakesh Roshan. Looking at the picture, Hrithik Roshan said, ‘My assistant days and this is about coal. Rakesh Roshan said, ‘My father-in-law Om Prakash ji wanted me to cast him (Hrithik Roshan) in the film. I said, Daddy, where will he work, he doesn’t say anything. He said take it, he stays quietly with you and talks to me.
Started career with ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’
Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan said, ‘When he gave his first shot, I was absolutely surprised.’ Hrithik Roshan started his acting career in the year 2000 with the film ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ and became a star overnight.

Hrithik Roshan’s first film ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ was directed and produced by his father Rakesh Roshan. ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ won a total of 9 awards, in which Rakesh Roshan won for Best Film, Rakesh Roshan for Best Director, Hrithik Roshan for Best Actor, and Rajesh Roshan won for Best Music Director.
The loss was caused by ‘coal’
Shahrukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit’s film ‘Koyla’ was an average earner. Because of this Rakesh Roshan had to suffer huge loss. In an interview given to ETC Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan had told that ‘After the Coal flop, there came a time in our house when we faced a lot of problems. All his (father Rakesh Roshan) money was lost. Whatever he had invested was gone and the one who had borrowed from him also went away.
