New Delhi. The film ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ has completed 25 years since its release. The film gave Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel to the industry. This pair, who dominated the screen from the very first film, was released again recently. In these 25 years, both the stars have done many films and have given many blockbusters and hits to the cinema along with many flops. Ameesha recently had a special conversation with News18 Shosha, in which she said that despite the ups and downs, she looks at her journey in a ‘glorious’ manner. The actress said, ‘I have given the biggest iconic hits of Bollywood, which can never be changed. What more could an actor want?
Ameesha Patel, in a special conversation with News18 Shosha, said that I had no connection with films and I am proud of whatever place I have made in the industry today. “As an outsider who doesn’t have a godfather, I think I’ve done pretty well for myself,” he said. I have three franchises in my name – ‘Gadar’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ and ‘Race’ which are still in production. I have given some of the biggest hit films in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, which have broken and created box office records.
Would like to be remembered for my iconic films
He told that he has no problem with having a limited filmography. Do I miss making films a lot? No! I would rather be remembered for my iconic films than arrive on Friday and be forgotten on Saturday. I am also one of the few people who saw two re-releases with ‘Gadar’: ‘Ek Prem Katha’ and ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’. I have been a part of these films, who have seen the highest footfall from these films. No one has been able to break this record.

The film was released on 14 January 2000.
Being born in a filmy family does not guarantee success.
According to Ameesha, being born in a film family is not necessarily a guarantee of success. She said, ‘How can I be sad? If I were sad, I would be ungrateful to God. Even people who have godfathers and marry into film families have bad flops and are rejected. I just want to say that when you have God you don’t need a godfather. He said, there are many surprises for my audience. I am not going anywhere. I have come here to stay.
‘We were family friends and I…’
Even after all these years, Ameesha told how her ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ co-actor Hrithik Roshan remains relevant and a ‘fitness icon’ for her fans. When asked about her first impression about Hrithik, she said that we were family friends and I knew him since then. When we were teenagers. He was skinny, introverted and awkward. He was also shy like me. When I came back to Mumbai after my studies in Boston and saw him, he had completely changed!’
‘He couldn’t digest it..’
She adds, ‘It was as if this caterpillar became a butterfly. I looked at him and said, ‘Superstar!’ But he couldn’t digest it and called me biased. Both of us had transformed from awkward teenagers to young men. We became confident and talkative. The shame was gone and we started it all over again! I used to call him Pierce Brosnan, Bond! The term ‘Greek God’ was also coined by me and I am very proud of it. It stuck with him from day one.
