Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray and MNS chief Raj Thackeray were seen together after a long time on Sunday, sparking speculation of fighting the BMC polls together. The cousins were at the wedding of Yash Deshpande, the son of Raj Thackeray’s sister Jaywanti, in Dadar, and were seen conversing with each other.
Sena minister Sanjay Shirsat sought to scotch the speculation. “There is no reason for the political atmosphere to heat up just because Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray met at a wedding. If something like that (tying up with Uddhav) was to be done, Raj Thackeray would have done it during the assembly election. Raj Thackeray tried to clap many times, but Uddhav Thackeray always withdrew his hand. I don’t think these two brothers will come together, at least not right now,” he said.
