The US administration is sending invitations to leaders from all over the world to attend the swearing-in of Donald Trump. Chinese President Xi Jinping has also been sent. There is doubt whether Russian President Vladimir Putin has been sent or not. But the media there claims that Putin has not received any invitation yet. But experts believe that China’s President may reject Trump’s invitation. Tension regarding tariff and many other reasons are being cited behind this. But if both Jinping and Putin come, it will be for the first time in the history of America.
According to experts, Jinping will not attend Trump’s swearing-in. Because a terrible war is going on between the two countries. Even after Trump’s arrival, there will be no change in America’s policies regarding China. Trump’s future press secretary Carolyn Levitt said, Trump has sent an invitation to Jinping to attend the swearing-in ceremony on January 20. But the Chinese Embassy in Washington said that they had no information about it. AP talked to many experts regarding whether Jinping and Putin will come or not.
Reason for Jinping not coming
1. Danny Russell, who was the US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, said, can you imagine Jinping being seen among those leaders who do not like to see him even in tears? Xi would not like to make himself the one who participates in the coronation celebration of any American President.2. Yun Sun, director of the China Program at the Washington-based think tank Stimson Center, said, Chinese leaders usually do not attend the swearing-in of the American President. If Jinping comes, it will be an example. I don’t think the Chinese President would want to take such a risk. That too when Taiwan’s top leaders attended Biden’s swearing-in in 2021. Beijing considers Taiwan as China’s territory and has repeatedly warned America that it should never cross the red line.
Was the invitation sent to Putin?
There was a question about whether Trump had invited Russian President Putin to attend the swearing-in ceremony or not. Now the Kremlin itself, the President’s Office of Russia, has given a statement on this. According to the report of Moscow Times, when Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov was asked whether any invitation had come from Trump? On this Peskov said, no – he has not done this till now. Earlier, when Trump had won, there were rumors that Putin had congratulated Trump on his victory. But later it was rejected.
