Madurai Jallikattu Competition: The famous Jallikattu competition was organized on the Pongal festival in Madurai district. This year 930 bulls and 400 players participated. Parthiban won the first position and a car worth Rs 8 lakh by controlling 14 bulls.

Madurai: Every year on the occasion of Pongal festival, the world famous Jallikattu Competition is organized with great pomp in Madurai district. Continuing this tradition this year too, the Palamedu Jallikattu competition was inaugurated at 7:40 am by Minister Murali and District Collector Sangeeta by hoisting the flag. Parthiban stood first in the competition and won a car worth Rs 8 lakh. Tulsiram stood second and won a bike worth Rs 1 lakh. Let us tell you that a total of 930 bulls were fielded in this competition, while 400 bullfighters took part in it. The competition was divided into 8 rounds, in which 32 best bullfighters were selected from each round. All these selected bullfighters performed strongly in the final round.
Natham’s Parthiban becomes ‘best bullfighter’
In the final round, the thrill of taming the bulls was at its peak. Parthiban of Natham area won the first position by taming 14 bulls and was given a car worth Rs 8 lakh as prize by Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi.
Tulsiram of Manjampatti won second place
Similarly, Tulsiram of Manjampatti area claimed the second position by controlling 12 bulls. He was given a two-wheeler worth Rs 1 lakh as a prize.

The winners of the final round performed brilliantly and received their respective awards. The athletes who came first and second in the Jallikattu competition celebrated their success and described it as the most memorable moment of their life.
