Market: The Gaddi dog found in Himachal Pradesh has now been officially recognized as an indigenous dog breed by the National Bureau of Genetic Resources, Karnal, under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The Gaddi Dog is the fourth indigenous dog breed to be officially registered in India and the first breed from the Himalayan region.
