He was suffering from age related diseases. Manmohan Singh was associated with the Congress Party. He worked as an economic advisor in the Congress government, but the turning point was in 2004 when Congress President Sonia Gandhi offered him the post of Prime Minister. Manmohan Singh served as the Prime Minister of the country twice (2004-2014).
