New Delhi. China-born cryptocurrency founder Justin Sun performed an amazing feat. He first spent 6.2 million dollars i.e. Rs 52.4 crore and bought the artwork of banana stuck with tape on the wall. Then ate it in the presence of media and other people. During an event organized in Hong Kong, Sun first spoke to the media and then after making famous the artwork made by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan in front of them, Sun ate that expensive banana. Sun also drew parallels between art and crypto, describing the taste of the fruit. After eating the banana he said that it was much better than other bananas.
According to the report, every person participating in this program was given a banana and a roll of duct tape as a memento. Banana auction was held earlier. Sun had earlier participated in the competition along with six other people. The auction took place in New York. This is not the first time that a banana with artwork has been eaten. This type of banana has been eaten twice before. Such a banana was first eaten by a performance artist in 2019 and again by a South Korean student in 2023. However, in previous cases no one had spent any money.

Industrialist Sun last week announced his plans to eat the fruit to mark the artwork’s history soon after winning the auction. He said at the time, “In the coming days, I will personally eat a banana containing this artwork to honor its place in both art history and popular culture. “It represents a cultural phenomenon that connects the worlds of art, memes, and the cryptocurrency community.”
