NEW DELHI: Former Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday announced that registrations for two key welfare schemes – Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana – start from Monday.
Under the Mahila Samman Yojana, women in Delhi will receive a financial benefit of Rs 2,100.
“We had promised this Rs 2,100 bonus for mothers and sisters. Since the announcement, people have been asking when registration will begin. I am happy to share that registration for Mahila Samman Nidhi will start from tomorrow. Our teams will visit homes to assist with the process,” Kejriwal said.
Kejriwal also highlighted the launch of the Sanjeevani Yojana, which aims to provide free healthcare to elderly citizens above the age of 60.
“The middle class often feels neglected, especially after retirement when elderly family members struggle with medical expenses. This scheme will ensure they receive proper treatment. Registration for this initiative will also start tomorrow,” he added.
To facilitate the process, AAP teams will conduct door-to-door registration drives for both schemes. Kejriwal emphasised that a Delhi voter ID is essential for eligibility.
“You can visit the website to check if your voter ID is still valid. We are noticing that votes are being cancelled on a large scale by the BJP,” he alleged.
Kejriwal announced that he, along with CM Atishi and senior leader Manish Sisodia, will personally visit neighborhoods to kick off the registration process. “We will begin this initiative by registering people with our own hands,” he stated.
