One dies, three hurt after car hits pedestrians, driver held

New Delhi: A 19-year-old man died, and three people were injured after they were hit by a car being driven negligently in northeast Delhi’s Dayalpur. Police arrested the driver in the case.
Police received a PCR call at 3.13 am on Dec 12 regarding an accident in Dayalpur. A team from the local police station rushed to the spot, near Sherpur Chowk, Dayalpur.
Cops discovered that a car had hit four pedestrians walking along the road. The impact of the collision was severe, resulting in serious injuries to all four individuals. Police rushed the injured persons to a hospital in a police vehicle.
One of the injured, 19-year-old Adnan, was later transferred to another hospital for further treatment, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Adnan was employed at an event management firm and was returning home from work with his colleagues at the time of the accident. Cops are also waiting for the report to ascertain if the accused was drunk at the time of the incident.
A case under sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) of BNS was registered at Dayalpur police station.
The driver of the offending vehicle, Deepak Kumar (24), was arrested and the vehicle was seized, cops said. tnn
