Now, Congress says list ‘urban Naxals’ linked to Jodo Yatra | Mumbai News

Nagpur: MPCC president Nana Patole on Friday sent a letter to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, demanding a detailed list of organisations and individuals labelled as “urban Naxals” who were alleged to have participated in or supported the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi.
Patole said, “The BJP is trying to defame a movement that has garnered immense public support. If the CM has evidence, he should present it. Otherwise, these are empty statements meant to spread misinformation.”
Patole’s demand follows remarks made by Fadnavis in the legislature during the debate on governor’s address. In his address, CM Fadnavis alleged that several organisations working against the state’s interests and involved in propagating “Urban Naxal” ideologies joined or supported the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Patole highlighted that several intellectuals, senior citizens, and activists actively participated in the Bharat Jodo Yatra to support its vision of national unity and harmony. “Labelling these organisations and individuals as Naxals is not only incorrect but also damaging to their reputation,” he stated.
Speaking on the Vidhan Bhavan premises, Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray said, “If these allegations are true, it reflects a massive failure of the Union Home Ministry. What were they doing all this time? If there are terrorists roaming freely, it’s a matter of serious concern and fear for the people.”
