Jatashankar Dham: A huge crowd of devotees gathered at Jatashankar Dham, famous as Kedarnath of Bundelkhand, on Makar Sankranti. Here people take bath and donate during the auspicious time and have darshan of Shivalinga. Three dogs have been treated here.
Chhatarpur. Makar Sankranti, the festival of change in the zodiac sign of the Sun, was celebrated with great pomp in the entire district. With sunrise, people came to the Jatashankar temple premises in large numbers and offered water after taking bath. On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, crowds of people arrived since morning. People started the day by having darshan of God in the temple along with bathing and donating during the holy period.
Rajkishore Badgaiyan, the young priest of Shri Jatashankar Dham, while talking to Local 18, tells that it is called Kedarnath of Bundelkhand. Like every year, this time also lakhs of devotees took a dip of faith in the festival of Makar Sankranti. Since morning till now, more than 2 lakh devotees have come here and taken a dip of faith. Even at night, devotees are continuously coming for darshan.
Dham is famous for supernatural powers
Talking about Jatashankar Dham, this Dham is known for the unique grace of Lord Shiva and many supernatural powers. There are three ponds inside this Dham, from which cold, hot and normal water comes. It is believed that bathing in these ponds cures most of the skin diseases. This is the reason why people take water from here to their homes.
Shivalinga is present in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, which is self-existent. It is believed that this Shivalinga had appeared on its own centuries ago, which remains intact even today. Jai Shiv Dham surrounded by hills seems as if God is sitting in the lap of nature and doing welfare of the people.
