Man beaten to death, son hurt in Mumbai parking row

Mumbai: The Parksite police arrested three people for allegedly beating a 41-year-old man to death and injuring his 19-year-old son over a parking issue.
The incident took place on Friday night in the Vikhroli area. The complainant, Mohammed Juned Kitabullah, told police that his father, Kitabullah, ran a transport business and had a shop in the area. He further said that in the same lane, there was a shop belonging to the accused, who quarrelled with his father over parking six months ago. The matter was resolved with locals intervening.
On Friday, the accused parked his scooter in front of Kitabullah’s shop. The complainant, Juned, told police that his father moved the scooter and parked it in front of the accused’s shop. This led to a quarrel, and then the three accused allegedly began beating up Kitabullah. They also used an iron rod and hit Kitabullah on his head. He sustained severe injuries and fell to the ground. When his son, Juned, tried to save his father, he too was assaulted, and the accused attempted to kill him, the complainant told police.
Kitabullah was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead. An FIR for murder and attempted murder was registered, and three accused were arrested.
