Canada America Row: Tension has increased between Canada and America. America’s newly elected President Donald Trump has talked about making Canada and Greenland American states after winning the elections. Canada and America are at loggerheads regarding this. Jagmeet Singh, head of the leftist National Democratic Party (NDP), has given a direct warning to Trump. He has said that he will respond to Trump’s threat of imposing tariffs by imposing counter tariffs.
Jagmeet Singh’s comments came a day after Trump said he would use “economic force” to make Canada a part of the US and make the independent nation the 51st US state. Responding to those comments, Singh said Trump was “acting more like an internet troll than the American President.”
Trump wants to merge Canada with America through economic force
In the video he can be heard calling Trump an “Internet troll”. Donald Trump vowed on Tuesday to use economic force against Canada. Because he is carrying forward his unlikely plan to merge the country with the United States. When asked whether he would use military force, the future US President said, “No, we will use economic force.”
He further said that “Canada and the United States, this will be a really big deal. You can get rid of that artificially drawn line and see how it looks. And this will also be much better for national security.”
