NAGPUR: Despite the expansion of the state govt’s cabinet and the final moments of the winter session approaching, no minister was allocated portfolios yet.
NCP (Sharad Pawar group) leader and MLA Jayant Patil predicted that the portfolio distribution will not happen even after the session ends. He made this statement while speaking to reporters in the Vidhan Bhavan premises.
Commenting on the recent murder of a sarpanch in Beed, Jayant Patil said, “The incident in Kej, Beed district, is extremely serious. There is no law and order in the state. Ordinary citizens are becoming victims. If people involved in politics are committing murders, someone will have to bear the consequences. The most concerning aspect is that the police administration is not taking any action. Literally, goondaraj (rule of goons) is ongoing in Beed.”
He also addressed the ongoing winter session, saying, “As a group leader, Jitendra Awhad is present. He and other members are making sure all the MLAs are given an opportunity to speak,” thus explaining his own approach of not being overly aggressive during this session.
