‘In mudslinging…’ Hansal Mehta gave clarification and ended the matter, debate with Anupam Kher regarding TAPM

Mumbai. There was a spat between Anupam Kher and filmmaker Hansal Mehta regarding the film ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ (TAPM) made on the country’s former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. After the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, journalist Veer Sanghvi criticized Anupam Kher starrer 2019 film ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’. Hansal Mehta agreed with him, but Anupam Kher got angry with this. He told that Hansal himself was the creative director of this film. The filmmaker responded to his post and admitted that he had made a mistake.

Now Hansal Mehta gave his final stand on the entire situation and hinted at ending this controversy. He shared a link to his interview with Hindustan Times on X. In this interview, he discussed the confrontation with Anupam Kher. Its caption read, “My final words on this troll fest. Over and out.”

Hansal Mehta said in the interview that he takes responsibility for both his successes and failures. He stressed the importance of self-reflection and introspection. He believes that it is his right to recognize past mistakes. He said, “It is my prerogative to introspect, to introspect and to look back and see whether I have made a mistake.”

Hansal Mehta further said, “There come times in your career when you follow your professional duties. Even if you disagree or have no control over the work assigned to you. “Through self-reflection, I hope that there will be fewer mistakes in decision making in the future.”

Hansal Mehta further said that the demise of Manmohan Singh inspired him to express this grief. However, despite the confrontation, he said that he respects her and will not indulge in any kind of mudslinging. He believes that what irritated Anupam Kher was his agreement with Veer Sanghvi’s criticism of ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’.

“It may have been ill-timed and unnecessary, but it echoed some of my feelings. Mr. Kher is a senior and I will not resort to any kind of mudslinging, name calling or his opinion against him. I may have differences of opinion with him, but his friendly nature and commitment made the process of working with him a pleasure. Having said that, I have often been self-critical and that’s just the way I am.”
