For the last three years, every January, all night Ramayana recitation is being organized for the peace of the dead souls. This time too, this event was held from 6 pm on 4th January to 6 am on 5th January, in which the atmosphere of the crematorium became devotional with Chhattisgarhi and Hindi bhajans.

Ramayan troupes from 23 villages participated in this event, who presented various devotional songs and Ram Shiv bhajans. Among the crowd of devotees, women, children and elderly people sat in Muktidham and enjoyed these presentations. During this time Bhandara was also organised, in which everyone took Prasad.

Pardeshi Dhruvanshi, Chairman of Municipality Bodri, believes that living people can listen to Ram Katha, but the medium of devotion is also necessary for the dead souls to get salvation.
