With the film’s exit from the Oscar race, India’s hopes of winning the award were also shattered. Meanwhile, India’s hopes in the Golden Globes Awards have also ended. After winning at the Cannes Film Festival, director Payal Kapadia’s film ‘All We Imagine is Light’ was nominated in two categories for the Golden Globes Awards 2025, but the film was left out of both the categories.
Payal Kapadia lost to Brady Corbett in the ‘Best Director’ category. Brady Corbett received the award for ‘The Brutalist’. Earlier, ‘All We Imagine Is Light’ had to face defeat to Emilia Perez in ‘Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language’.
History created even after defeat

She has become the first Indian director to be nominated in the Best Director category at the Golden Globes. His film ‘All We Imagine is Light’ had made it to the final list, defeating other films.
