As soon as winter starts in America, the clocks are turned back one hour. So that people can make maximum use of daylight. As soon as winter ends, the clocks are turned back. This system of daylight saving time will now be abolished. This announcement was made by Donald Trump, who was elected President of America only last month. He says that this causes loss to America. But after all, what is Daylight Saving Time and why is it being said that there is a need to end it. Let us know what is this daylight and what is the science behind it?
Why are the clocks turned back
In many countries of the world, the days become very short and the nights very long in winter. In such a situation, offices should not consume much electricity. As soon as winter arrives, the country’s clocks are set back, so that people’s day starts in daylight and the offices close early in the evening due to darkness. Maximum use of daylight can be made. That is why it is also named Daylight Saving Time.
Why do the times of day and night change?,
This does not happen in every country of the world. This happens more in those countries which are closer to the poles, where in winter the days become very short and the nights become very long. Along with rotating on its axis, the Earth also revolves around the Sun. But this axis is not perpendicular to the plane of rotation of the Sun, that is, it is not straight in comparison to it. If it were so, then the length of day and night would be the same in every country of the world for 12 months of the year, but it is not so. The Earth’s axis is tilted 23.5 degrees. Due to this inclination, the length of day and night here changes according to the season.

When are the days short and when are they long?,
Due to this inclination, for six months of the year from March to September, the Northern Hemisphere is more inclined towards the Sun, due to which the days are longer and the nights are shorter. This change is less in the countries near the equator, but more in the countries near the polar countries. In winter the opposite happens, days are short and nights are long. The same situation happens in the countries of the Southern Hemisphere from March to September. ,
When does time change in America?
Many countries in America and Europe use daylight saving time due to their proximity to the North Pole. In America this change occurs on the second Sunday of March and the first Sunday of November. This change in clocks starts at 2 o’clock local time. Trump and Republicans argue that repeatedly turning back the clocks is foolish. Because it causes a lot of inconvenience and loss of money.

What are the disadvantages of this?,
Many experts believe that daylight saving time is very harmful for health because the body clock has to be adjusted a lot due to it. This causes many problems like mental problems, stroke, heart attack etc. and many people even commit suicide due to depression. Apart from this, people also need to keep the house warm for a longer time and in such a situation it becomes expensive.

In India, the need for daylight saving timing is not felt in the south and center because it is near the equator. Yes, in North India we definitely see shorter length of days and longer nights in winter, yet due to it being away from the poles, the need for daylight saving is not felt here either.
