Mumbai. Everyone from the common man to the big personalities expressed grief over the demise of the country’s former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Bollywood celebs also shared their experiences and paid tribute in their own style. Anupam Kher also wrote a long note. He played the role of Manmohan Singh in the film ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’, based on Manmohan Singh’s political career. The film received mixed responses. There was a lot of opposition to the film. After the death of Manmohan Singh, journalist Veer Sanghvi criticized this film. Hansal Mehta supported it, but Anupam Kher did not like it and there was an argument between the two.
‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ was an adaptation of the book by Sanjay Baru, former media advisor to Manmohan Singh. Regarding the film, Veer Sanghvi tweeted, “If you want to remember the lies told about Manmohan Singh, you should watch ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ again. “Not only is it one of the worst Hindi films ever made, but it is an example of how the media was used to tarnish the name of a good man.”
Supporting Veer Sanghvi’s statement, Hansal Mehta retweeted, “+100.” Anupam Kher did not like this. Responding to Hansal Mehta’s reaction, he wrote, “There is no Hippocrat Veer Sanghvi in this thread. They have the freedom not to like any film. But Hansal Mehta, you were the creative director of ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’. Who was present during the entire shooting of the film in England!”
Anupam Kher further wrote, “He (Hansal Mehta) gave his creative input and must have also taken fees for it. So for them to call Veer Sanghvi’s comments 100% is very messed up and full of double standards! Not that I agree with Mr. Sanghvi, but we are all capable of doing bad or different things. But we must accept it. Not like Hansal Mehta who is trying to earn some money from a particular class. Comeon Hansel!! Grow Up! I still have all the videos and pictures from our shoot together!”
Hansal Mehta also responded to Anupam Kher’s reaction. He wrote, “Of course I accept my mistakes, Mr. Kher. And I can admit that I made a mistake. Can’t I make a mistake, sir? I did my job as professionally as I was allowed to do. You can deny it? But this does not mean that I have to keep supporting the film or that I should not be impartial about my wrong decision.
Hansal Mehta further wrote, “If you want, abuse me. If I have inadvertently hurt you, I am sorry. Sending you love. Whenever you want, we will talk and clear the situation. I will not allow trolls to make this worse and have fun at our expense. Good night, a merry belated Christmas, and a happy new year. To you and all the hyperactive trolls.”
