Former AAP MLA from Mundka shifts to BJP

New Delhi: Former AAP MLA from Mundka, Sukhvir Singh Dalal, and six-time member of the Delhi Gurdwara Management Committee, Sardar Balbir Singh, joined BJP on Saturday. The two were initiated into the party by Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, Union minister Harsh Malhotra, and convenor of the party joining committee, Ashish Sood.
Sachdeva also announced the immediate appointment of Sardar Balbir Singh as a minister in the Delhi BJP. While praising Singh’s contributions in the education sector and highlighting the alleged failures of Kejriwal govt, Sachdeva slammed AAP for making “false promises” about the Sports University. “Appointments were made on paper and funds disbursed, but no physical progress is visible. Only Modi govt ensures that any project inaugurated is also completed under its tenure,” Sachdeva claimed.
An AAP spokesperson, however, said Kejriwal’s guarantees were not “hollow like PM Modi’s false promises”. “PM Modi often laid foundation stones, clicked photos, and claimed credit for projects that don’t even exist—like AIIMS Darbhanga, where land wasn’t allotted, yet he declared it complete,” the AAP spokesperson said, adding that Delhi welcomed the first batch of student-athletes to the Delhi Sports School on Sept 18, 2023.
