Cops arrest couple for duping doc of 3.3cr

Navi Mumbai:A couple from Uran were arrested from New Delhi airport for allegedly cheating a doctor and his family of Rs 3.29 crore. The couple, Jugnu Koli (45) and his wife Tejasvi (35), had offered the doctor, Aashish Kale (50), and his wife jobs abroad and had promised internships to their two children in Germany and Australia. The couple were to board a flight to Kazakhstan from Delhi.
The complaint by the doctor who lives at Seawoods states that the couple accepted Rs 3.02 crore and Rs 27 lakh in cash, but reneged on their promise, said police inspector Ajay Shinde. A case of cheating was registered against the couple at NRI Coastal police station in July.
The accused couple were absconding for many months, the police said, adding that they had even applied for anticipatory bail which was rejected by the court. The police had issued a lookout notice for the couple at airports in the country. On the basis of the notice, the accused were detained at Delhi International Airport on Wednesday.
