California Plane Crash: After South Korea and Canada, now a plane crash has occurred in America. A plane has met with an accident in Southern California, America. Actually, a small plane collided with the roof of a building during flight. After this the plane crashed. 11 people were injured in this accident. Right now the police is engaged in the rescue mission.
According to Fullerton Police spokesperson Christy Wells, this incident occurred on Thursday afternoon. Police received information about this accident that happened in Fullerton city of Orange County at 2:09 pm. Wells said that police and fire officials reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The surrounding area was evacuated.
Wells said it was not yet known what type of plane it was or whether the injured people were on the plane or on the ground. Video footage from KABC shows white smoke billowing from the top of a large building.
The plane crashed near Fullerton Municipal Airport. There is one runway and one helipad at this airport. It is located near the regional train line, Metrolink, and is surrounded by residential and commercial warehouse buildings. Actually, Fullerton is a city of about 140,000 people which is about 25 miles (40 kilometers) southeast of Los Angeles.
179 people died in South Korea
Earlier, last Sunday, a passenger plane slipped off the runway at the airport in South Korea and collided with a concrete wall. Due to this the plane caught fire. In this accident, all but two of the 181 people on board the plane were killed.
The plane was 15 years old
This is one of the worst plane accidents ever to have occurred in South Korea. Officials said the Jeju Air plane crashed while landing in Muan city, about 290 kilometers south of Seoul. The aircraft was a 15-year-old Boeing 737-800, which was returning from Bangkok and the accident occurred at 9:03 am local time.
