Bomb threat to yatra in Nashik, Mumbai police file FIR

Mumbai: Vile Parle police on Saturday registered an FIR against an unknown person for issuing bomb threats targeting the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi Mukti Janjagran Abhiyan Yatra in Trimbakeshwar, Nashik, from Dec 21-23.
In his police complaint, Ashutosh Pandey (48), a resident of Mathura in UP and president of the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi Mukti Nirman Trust, said he was at Delhi airport with his cousin Pradipkumar Bhargav to catch a flight to Mumbai when he received a WhatsApp call from a Pakistani number at 4.52am. The caller demanded cancellation of the yatra and threatened to plant a bomb if his demand was not met.
After his arrival in Mumbai, at 2.31pm, the unidentified caller contacted him again via WhatsApp and repeated the threats, Pandey told police.
Pandey’s complaint detailed his role as a primary plaintiff in the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Eidgah Mosque legal dispute in Mathura, where he personally presented arguments at the Allahabad court. He told Vile Parle police that he has been receiving death threats from Pakistan since Jan, which he has reported to relevant police authorities.
