The use of Generative AI including ChatGPT has increased in every field these days. It has been claimed that the help of ChatGPT has been taken in this blast. After this news came out, people’s concern regarding the use of ChatGPT has once again increased. 37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger was killed and seven other people were injured in this blast.
Police officials also said that the accused army jawan did not intend to kill anyone. Sheriff Kevin McMahill of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department called the use of generative AI to solve the blasts a “game-changer” and said the department is sharing information with other federal investigative agencies.

Police have claimed that Mathew had used generative AI, including ChatGPT, to help plan the attack. An official said, “This is the first incident that I can say about where ChatGPT is used to help someone build a particular device. This is a worrying moment.”
What did OpenAI say?
OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPAT AI, said it is committed to responsible use of its tools and that they are designed to avoid harmful instructions. OpenAI said that we are cooperating in the investigation. “In this case, ChatGPT responded with information already publicly available on the Internet and warned against harmful or illegal activities,” the company said in a statement. “We are working with law enforcement to support their investigation.”
How a blast was planned with the help of cheatjipeet
The investigation revealed that Mathew took information from ChatGPT about how to place explosives in the Cybertruck and how fast it needed to be fired so that the car catches fire and causes an explosion. He had also taken information from ChatGPT as to what rules and regulations would be required for him to purchase explosives. Police officials believe Leavelsbarger shot himself while he was in the Cybertruck. Due to this the car caught fire and then exploded.
