‘Baby John’ bowed before ‘Pushpa 2’ on the very first day, Varun Dhawan could not compete with Allu Arjun on Christmas day

New Delhi. Varun Dhawan’s most awaited film ‘Baby John’ was released at the Christmas box office. The film has received good reviews. But even after the release of the film on a holiday, the film could not perform as well as was expected. Varun Dhawan’s latest release Baby John has not had a good start at the box office. The film has received a lukewarm response from the audience on the opening day. But the dominance of ‘Pushpa 2’ at the box office was visible even on the 21st day.

Varun Dhawan starrer ‘Baby John’ had created a lot of buzz before its release, after which it seemed that this film will break all the earning records as soon as it is released. After ‘Jawaan’, people had high expectations from Atlee’s action thriller film ‘Baby John’, but these expectations cooled down on the first day.

How ‘Pushpa 2’ overshadowed ‘Baby John’
According to Sacnilk report, the film earned around Rs 12.5 crore on its first day. Despite Baby John’s good movie reviews, the holiday, the film failed to surpass Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, which collected Rs 19.75 crore in its 21st day. The strong performance of ‘Pushpa 2’ and the tremendous success of ‘Mufasa’ have had a big impact on the earnings of ‘Baby John’.

Not only ‘Pushpa 2’ but ‘Mufasa’-‘Max’ also spoiled the game of ‘Baby John’
‘Baby John’, in which Varun Dhawan is seen in a powerful avatar, was expected to earn Rs 13 crore on its first day. However, the film did not live up to expectations. This fight at the box office further increased when along with ‘Pushpa 2’ and ‘Mufasa’, Kannada action thriller ‘Max’, starring Kiccha Sudeep in the lead role, was also released on Christmas. Kiccha Sudeep’s film recorded the biggest opening for a Kannada film in 2024, earning Rs 10 crore on the first day. With positive reviews, the film is set for a strong weekend with good collections.

‘Pushpa 2’ becomes tough competitor for other films
‘Pushpa 2’ directed by Sukumar is making waves with its thrilling story and Allu Arjun’s stellar performance. Even in the third week, the film is showing no signs of slowing down, making it a tough competitor for any new release. The film’s earnings have put it on the path to becoming the highest-grossing film of all time. At the same time, ‘Baby John’ is Varun’s first big screen project, which comes after the release of his web series ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ in October.
