...Atishi responds to LG’s civic concerns with swift action

New Delhi: Chief minister Atishi on Sunday visited Rangpuri Pahari to take stock of the area’s civic amenities that were flagged by lieutenant governor VK Saxena.
Ahead of elections to the Delhi Assembly, due in Feb, Saxena on Saturday shared a clip of his visit to Rangpuri Pahari, detailing the plight of the residents, especially the women in the area.
In a rare show of cooperation between VK Saxena and AAP dispensation, former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal thanked Saxena for flagging the shortcomings, saying Delhi govt would take steps for improvements. “Earlier, the lieutenant governor cited the bad condition of the Nangloi-Mundka Road. The road was constructed and chief minister Atishi will soon inaugurate it. I urge the lieutenant governor to tell us about the shortcomings and we will correct them,” Kejriwal said in a press conference.
After a visit to the Rangpuri Pahadi area, Atishi said: “I am thankful to LG sir for attracting our attention to this. If the LG identifies any problem or issue in Delhi, he should inform us, and we will ensure that it is resolved. During his visit to New Rohtak Road, the LG pointed out that the road was in a completely broken state.”
She added: “I am pleased to report that one side of the road was already constructed. Once GRAP-IV is removed, the other side will also be completed. Additionally, a new drainage system, costing over Rs 150 crore, was installed in the area.”
Atishi said, “Today, I’m here in the Rangpuri Pahadi area, where residents had highlighted concerns about cleanliness and drain maintenance. I promise the residents of Rangpuri Pahadi that these issues will be resolved within a week.”
She also added that road and electricity issues would be addressed in the coming days.
“The people of Rangpuri Pahadi have unanimously expressed their trust in Arvind Kejriwal. They believe that only Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP can resolve their problems,” she said.
Atishi added that whenever the LG has highlighted issues, govt has acted on them.
“If Delhiites face any problems, AAP govt has always stood with them and will continue to do so,” she said.
