Mumbai: Passenger traffic growth at Mumbai airport maintained its momentum in Nov with 4.7 million flyers and 27,200 flights, said Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) on Tuesday.
The airport handled 3.4 million domestic passengers, registering a 6.6% growth compared to Nov 2023. For international passenger traffic, the growth compared to Nov last year was 8.1% with 1.37 million travellers last month. The airport handled 19,696 domestic and 7,504 international flights (including freighters). The busiest day was recorded on Nov 27, with 941 flights on a single day.
Delhi, Bengaluru and Goa were the top three domestic destinations, catering to both leisure and business travellers. On the international front, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and London were the most frequented routes.
Mumbai airport handled 71,046MT of cargo, comprising 18,653MT of domestic shipments and 52,393MT of international consignments. Key domestic commodities included consolidated cargo, engineering goods and postal mail, while international shipments were dominated by automobiles, pharmaceuticals and electronics.
