According to officials, Khar police has arrested a man for stealing a diamond necklace worth around Rs 1 lakh, Rs 35,000 in cash and some US dollars from the residence of actress Poonam Dhillon in Mumbai’s Khar. The arrest was made on January 6 and the accused was identified as Sameer Ansari, 37, who is a painter.

Intentions spoiled after seeing open cupboard
Police investigation revealed that accused Ansari was at the actress’s house between December 28 and January 5 to get the flat painted. During this, he took advantage of the open cupboard and stole the goods. Ansari saw an open cupboard and took advantage of the opportunity to steal. The accused had a party with the stolen money. It is known that Poonam Dhillon lives in Juhu, but she often spends time at her son Anmol’s house in Khar.
