NEW DELHI: BJP on Sunday accused AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal of trying to create a misunderstanding by linking Purvanchali people with Rohingya and Bangladeshis. The party urged people of Bihar and UP living in Delhi to give a befitting reply to AAP in the assembly polls.
This comes a day after Kejriwal claimed BJP president J P Nadda called Purvanchalis Rohingya and Bangladeshis and “admitted” that their names were being deleted from the electoral rolls in Delhi.
At a press conference, party leader and Bihar deputy CM Samrat Choudhary said, “For the last several days, a big leader of Delhi has been repeatedly trying to create confusion. Delhi is facing problems related to water, drainage and roads but the former CM is not saying anything about them. During the Covid pandemic, the then Delhi CM said people from Bihar and UP living in the city should return (to their homes).”
Today these people are trying to spread misunderstanding on the Purvanchal issue, he said. He added that Kejriwal making the announcement on registration of beneficiaries for Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana instead of CM Atishi was an “insult to women”.
AAP’s Sanjay Singh claimed that BJP wanted to win Delhi elections by manipulating voter lists, “but we will not let their electoral fraud succeed”.
