MUMBAI: The Shiv Sena has managed to retain most of its existing portfolios from the previous Mahayuti govt. CM Fadnavis has kept energy, law and judiciary, general administration department, information and publicity departments.
BJP’s Chandrashekhar Bawankule is revenue minister, while Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil has got water resources (Godavari and Krishna Valley Development Corporation).
The water resources department has been split, with its other half comprising Vidarbha, Tapi and Konkan Development Corporation along with disaster management given to BJP’s Girish Mahajan.
From the Sena, Shambhuraj Desai has got tourism, mining and ex-servicemen’s welfare, Pratap Sarnaik has got transport, Uday Samant has retained the industries department along with Marathi language, Gulabrao Patil has been given water supply and sanitation, and Dada Bhuse (who earlier had PWD – public enterprises) has got school education while Sanjay Rathod has been given soil and water conservation.
From the BJP, Chandrakant Patil has got higher and technical education and parliamentary affairs, Ganesh Naik has got forests, while Atul Save has been allotted the OBC welfare, dairy development and renewable energy departments.
BJP’s Pankaja Munde has got environment and climate change and animal husbandry while her cousin, NCP’s Dhananjay Munde, has got food and civil supplies and consumer protection. Pankaja Munde is the only MLC who is a minister in the Mahayuti govt; and all the other ministers are MLAs.
While NCP’s Hasan Mushrif will look after medical education, Dattatray Bharne has got sports and youth welfare, minorities development and Waqf, and Aditi Tatkare has retained women and child development that runs the Ladki Bahin Yojana. NCP’s former deputy speaker Narhari Zirwal has been given food and drug administration and special assistance.
Further in the BJP, Ashok Uike will helm the tribal development ministry and Jaykumar Rawal marketing and protocol, Nitesh Rane has got fisheries and ports, Akash Fundkar labour, Babasaheb Patil co-operation and Shivendrasingh Bhosale public works (excluding public enterprises).
Of the two new Shiv Sena ministers, Bharat Gogawale has been given employment guarantee, horticulture and salt pan land development while Sanjay Shirsat has got social justice. Of the two ministers from Mumbai, Mangal Prabhat Lodha has got skill development, employment, entrepreneurship and innovation and Ashish Shelar has got information technology and cultural affairs.
There are six ministers of state (MoS), and each one of them has been allotted 5-6 portfolios. This time, two junior ministers for home – for urban (Yogesh Kadam of Sena) and rural (Pankaj Bhoyar of BJP) – have been named.
Apart from this, Ashish Jaiswal has got finance and planning, agriculture, relief and rehabilitation, law and judiciary and labour, and Madhuri Misal has got urban development, transport, social justice, medical education, minorities development and Waqf.
Apart from home (rural), Bhoyar has got housing, school education, co-operation and mining, while Meghna Bordikar has public health and family welfare, water supply and sanitation, energy, women and child development and public works (public enterprises).
Indranil Naik has been given industries, public works, higher and technical education, tribal development, tourism, soil and water conservation. Yogesh Kadam, in addition to home (urban), has responsibility for revenue, rural development and Panchayati Raj, food and civil supplies, consumer protection as well as food and drug administration.
