4 men arrested for Pushp Vihar murder

New Delhi: Four men were arrested on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday for allegedly murdering a man and then smashing his face to conceal his identity in south Delhi’s Pushp Vihar. The suspects claimed that the man used to threaten them and their family members.
The murder happened last Thursday. Police got a PCR call at 3.42am about a body that was found in a park in a jhuggi area of Pushp Vihar, Sector 4.
The man police found dead was 21-year-old Monu Thapa, a resident of Pushp Vihar. The body had facial injuries, and a blood-stained stone was found at the scene.
During investigation, police scanned CCTV footage to ascertain the routes taken by the suspects while fleeing. They were identified as Abhishek, his brother Babu, Sourav and Puchhi.
Police said the four and their families were not found in their homes. According to DCP (south) Ankit Chauhan, Abhishek was caught in Kalkaji after a CCTV footage review. Later, Babu and Sourav were also caught in Uttar Pradesh.
Police stated, “One of the accused, Babu, was allegedly beaten by Monu in 2022. According to the Babu’s statement, Monu used to threaten the four and their family members. Consequently, they planned to kill him, and when they got the opportunity, they killed him by hitting him with a stone.”
