New Delhi. Ravi Kishan is one of the best actors of Bollywood. Her work in ‘Lapata Ladies’ released in the year 2024 was greatly appreciated. Apart from this, his series ‘Maamla Legal Hai’ was also much discussed. Recently, Ravi Kishan talked about his childhood, which was spent in extreme poverty. He told that he grew up in extreme poverty, lived in a mud house and 12 people used to eat thin khichdi mixed with water. Despite being successful, he still hesitates in ordering openly in expensive restaurants, because his middle class habits are still with him.
During an interview on Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel, Ravi Kishan told that he had come out of poverty with great difficulty. He said, ‘I have seen so much poverty that even today I do not order good food in a 7 star hotel. Be it production money or my money. Still order khichdi. I hesitate to give clothes to the laundry. I think my clothes will be washed at home. That poverty is still in my mind and has settled in my veins. That middle class is not coming out of me.
12 people used to eat khichdi in the same plate
Ravi Kishan told that he lived in a mud house. When he came to Mumbai, the fields were mortgaged. Used to survive on vada pav and tea. Worked in films for 15 years without any fees. He said, ‘I have seen a lot of poverty. We had many responsibilities. Our farming land was mortgaged. Everything was destroyed. I have seen extreme poverty. Such poverty where 12 people used to eat one khichdi mixed with water.
Ravi Kishan was insulted thousands of times
Ravi Kishan further said, ‘I have faced insults many times. People get insulted two-four times, I have faced it thousands of times. It is the color of life that has made Ravi Kishan what he is. Recalling his days of struggle, Ravi Kishan said that he was not from a filmy background and he was not good at English. Well, he believes that after reaching this position, he has no complaints against anyone who insulted him.
